It all started when...

our founder Marty Alvino picked up her first pair of scissors. From that moment on she knew her fingers belonged in a pair of shears and not on a keyboard.

Her humble career started out of her garage more than 46 years ago and in 1984 the stars aligned and The Rose of Sharon Salon was born.

Almost 35 years later, Marty along with her children Miguel and Lexx have each contributed their own unique generational mark to "The Rose". From timeless fashions, creative new trends, to the latest industry technologies they have come

First opened in 1984 on State street where now resides the hip new restaurant "The State" then from there due to the demand for growth we then moved to the Centennial Plaza in in 1988 residing there for 26 years. staying true to dream and desire to fulfill our vision in 2013 we made our latest move to one of Redlands most historical and beautiful gems, "The Santa Fe Train Station".  Our new location has some of the greatest  historical charm with solid brass nine foot entry doors, while flooded with natural light surrounded by walls of windows.

When designing the location, our number one priority, to minimize our foot print, from recycling the use of our fixtures, 100% LED true light lighting to energy efficient HVAC and water usage, plus much much more.
